THE car used in the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was the star of a school fete.
The famous vehicle was hired for the day with the help of sponsors and appeared at Blake School, Witney.
It proved to be a popular feature, attracting a lot of interest particularly from the young.
The fete, which raised £700 for school funds, included a display in the school grounds by Witney Radio Controlled Model Car Club.
Other attractions included the Corinne Bailey dancers, the Boys’ Brigade marching band, West Oxfordshire Quilters and Lacemakers, Witney Weightlifting Club and Jack Wharton’s steam engine.
There was also an animal corner, with pupils bringing their own pets and Cogges Museum providing livestock.
