Pictured on the grey horse is Oliver Gilbey, a Bicester farmer.
This group of riders is passing a row of six thatched cottages that were built in 1790 and were demolished in 1958 to make way for the entrance to the Kings End estate in Bicester. Standing on the site today are Kwik-Fit and Majestic Wine Company. Mr Gilbey’s farm is now home to the Bure Park housing estate at the north end of the town.
