Villagers in Long Wittenham celebrated 2,000 years of theatrical history with a weekend of festivities in 1984.
The climax was a parade called Flamboyance and Flummery featuring costumes through the ages.
To the accompaniment of historic dances, madrigals and instrumental music, 20 models wore more than 60 costumes, many of which had used on TV and in films.
The models included the three pictured here – left to right, Elizabeth Brozek, Bernard Slatter and Sarah Rutter.
