Women had the chance to learn all about the countryside during a visit to a farm.
The Oxfordshire branch of the National Farmers’ Union organised an annual farm walk for members of women’s groups in Oxford and Banbury.
When this picture was taken, in 1963, the women were listening to a talk about the workings of a modern farm at Clattercote Priory Farm, Claydon, near Banbury.
They also learned something of the history of the farm — calves were living in buildings which were once a priory and a leper hospital.
The women’s groups present included Townswomen’s Guilds, the Women’s Voluntary Service and the Inner Wheel.
