This picture is the earliest I have of the Oxford speedway team.
It was taken in 1937, shortly before the speedway boys broke away and the Oxford Ixion Motorcycle Club was formed. Over the years, I have managed to add a few names, but I would like to know others. Can any of your readers help with names and tell us where the picture was taken?
Among those pictured are: Bob Faulkner (back row, third from right), Edward Mander (back row, fourth from right in the tie), Pete Minns (known as Albert George, sitting on bike on left), Ron Amey (next to Pete Minns), Froggy French (crouching), and Stan Hailwood (on the right in long coat – he owned the bikes)
