This trio set off on a 12-mile mini-triathlon in 1986 to raise money for Riding for the Disabled. Jonathan Puddicombe, left, Mike Reed, centre, and Merrick Sheldon cycled from Cumnor to Stanton Harcourt, swam across the Thames, then ran back to the pub, raising £50.
A large cast of pupils aged 11 to 14 at Matthew Arnold School staged a production of Treasure Island in 1984.
