SAMANTHA Collingwood, from Cowley, at two-and-a-half months old, was just beginning to realise how exciting Christmas can be.
She appears in our main picture receiving a present from Santa at a gift sale at Oxford Town Hall in 1978.
The Oxford and Cherwell Round Table float, below, proved a great attraction when it was stationed at Cowley shopping centre in 1975.
Father Christmas had no shortage of takers for his lucky dip.
Workers at Pressed Steel Fisher at Cowley enjoyed what was described as a ‘Christmas booze-up’ as they approached the festive season, pictured below.
The only one in this group we know is Basil Cook, in the light- coloured jacket at the back.
