Valerie Wells’s picture of the Coronation party at the Beehive pub
VALERIE Wells, of Headington, sent in a picture of the Coronation celebrations at the Beehive pub in Blackfrairs Road, St Ebbe’s, Oxford (Memory Lane, June 3 2013) and said she liked to see photographs and letters about the Friars.
I have been meaning to send this picture to you for some time. I lived opposite the Beehive.
It shows members of the Sunday School at Holy Trinity Parochial Hall in about 1955 when I was seven or eight. I am the boy grinning in the bottom right hand corner of the picture, in the tie. My mum always sent me out looking smart.
