SINGLE mum-of-three Samantha Flett said she could see no benefits for her in yesterday’s Budget.
The cleaner from Cowley Marsh said she would probably have to quit smoking after the price of a pack rose by 37p last night.
She said: “I will have to give up. I won’t be able to afford it now.”
The 36-year-old said she was earning £109 a week, so already avoided income tax.
Yet she welcomed the rise in personal tax allowance adding: “It’s a good idea. It will be a relief for some parents.
“There is a lot more they could do but I know there is not the money to help a lot of people.”
The Weymann Terrace resident has three sons – Antoine, 19, Marco, 15, and Ashley, 13.
She said the cap on child benefits for those earning £60,000 was fair and welcomed news a million jobs were predicted to be created over the next five years.
She said: “I have got a teenage son who wants to work.”
