THREE men are wanted by police after a 15-year-old boy was headbutted, punched and kicked in an afternoon assault in Oxford city centre.

The CCTV image at window 18 of our Badvent calendar has been released by police who want to speak to these young men about the attack in Gloucester Green.

The Oxford Mail and Thames Valley Police are revealing the face of wanted suspects every day in the run-up to Christmas as part of our seasonal campaign.

The teenage victim in today’s appeal was walking with friends past a fast-food shop opposite the Odeon Cinema in George Street shortly before 4.30pm on Saturday, November 24, when a large group of young men shouted at them.

The young group ignored them and continued walking to the Gloucester Green bus station.

But they were followed by four men who attacked the victim.

The boy was headbutted, punched and kicked, and left with a bloody nose.

Investigating officer Clare Testa said: “This was a nasty and totally unprovoked attack on a young man at a time when a lot of people would have been around in the centre of Oxford.

“Did you see these men running away from the scene or did you see them hanging around prior to the crime?

“I urge anyone with information to get in touch and let us know who they are.”

So far our Christmas campaign has seen four men arrested and readers call in with information about at least four more.

Suspected shoplifter Trevor Francis – who was revealed behind door three – and suspected burglar Daniel Collins – who featured behind door 13 – have both admitted crimes and will be sentenced at Oxford Crown Court next month.
