CASES heard recently by Oxford magistrates:
- Gary Woodwards, 19, of no fixed address, admitted fraud after claiming a stolen laptop belonged to him so he could make £60 in Pound Way, Oxford. Community order made.
- Daniel Govern, 24, of Beaumont Road, Oxford, admitted possessing cannabis in Oxford on March 23. Fined £280, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.
- Malaika Samuels, 50, of Hollow Way, Oxford, admitted three charges of fraud by false representation between March 15 and April 2. Forged stolen cheques to try get £200, £1,000 and £5,000. Given a 10 week prison sentence suspended for 12 months. Given a supervision requirement for a year and told to do 150 hours of unpaid community work.
- Maqsood Akhtar, 50 of Mill Lane, Marston, Oxford, admitted possession of Class A drug diamorphine in Mill Lane, Marston, Oxford, on July 12. Fined £110, £15 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
