BLACKBIRD Leys residents will be offered a free health MOT on Wednesday.

The event, organised by housing assocation GreenSquare and the Leys Partnership Community Fund, will provide older local residents advice on a range of issues from dental health to bowel cancer screening. Visitors can also get a 15-minute health check MOT from an NHS nurse. Tina Manna, from GreenSquare, said: “Getting the correct advice and information is key to helping older people deal with potential risks to their health, such as mobility, falls, poor nutrition, cancer threats and foot care. We hope residents will come along and make the most of the opportunity to find out everything they need to know about staying fit and healthy during their older years.”

The event runs The Barn, Greater Leys, from 10am to 3pm.
