MURDER TRIAL: Man "stabbed to death in street with kitchen knife"

A MAN was stabbed to death in an Oxford street after trying to break up a fight, a jury heard this morning.

Aaron Buron was at a house in St Martin's Road, Rose Hill, when Haydan O'Callaghan attacked his girlfriend Latasha Peck on March 31 this year, Oxford Crown Court was told.

The jury heard O'Callaghan, 18, grabbed Ms Peck's head and pulled her towards him before Mr Buron, 29, and a group of teenage boys tried to separate them.

Ian Acheson, prosecuting, said O'Callaghan then stabbed Mr Buron with a five inch kitchen knife.

O’Callaghan, of Saunders Road, East Oxford, denies murder.

The trial continues.
