MP will not face action on crash
11:00am Saturday 29th September 2012 in News
MP Sir Tony Baldry
Police have confirmed MP Sir Tony Baldry , left, will not face any further action after he lost control of his car and crashed into a shop, three other cars, and a portable toilet.
The incident happened earlier this month in Banbury, when the MP’s automatic Mercedes shot off when he bent down to pick up a dropped ticket. Despite Sir Tony trying to regain control, the car veered through the car park, took out a portable toilet, went over a small drop into a neighbouring road and then hit the wall of a Poundland store.
It then hit a parked van and three stationary cars before coming to a rest against a concrete pillar, a witness said.
No one was injured and Sir Tony is understood to have given a negative breath test to police. Breath tests are standard procedure in crashes.
A police spokesman said: “No further police action is going to be taken.”

Anybody else would be prosecuted.
He was obviously not in full control of his vehicle, and has broken the law.
Somebody could have been killed.

Since when have our far too busy police forces been obliged to take up duties that involve archaic esoteric repetitive religious rituals ? It will be marriages and funerals next.
.
And confirmation of such a person (a politician and a 'Sir') - so advanced in years too NB that politicians are professional liars , you know - well a lot of them are allegedly .
The Confirmation Process could cause some gullible people to acquire a guilt ridden conscience and all that follows from that.
.
I mean - Look what happen to Tony Blair. There's a lesson there for all of us , I reckon. And HE lives locally too. Coincidence or what ?

Any way once the car started to move surely he should have taken his foot off the accelerator taken it out of drive mode and applied either the foot brake or the hand brake. So how can he be blameless???
