PENSIONERS could not contain their delight as they were transported back to the days of rock n roll, diners and swing dresses.
Staff at Heathfield House Nursing Home, near Bicester which specialises in dementia care, donned 1950s style clothes, transformed the dining room into a diner and served up traditional food from the era.
Residents also danced when singer Richard Deverox crooned tunes from pop stars of the day.
Occupational therapist Amanda Fieldwick came up with the idea of the party to jog the memories of dementia sufferers at the home, in Bletchington.
Maisie Harvey, 88, pictured with Hollie Southgate, 23, said: “It was a super day, it made such a change.”
