A STUDENT from Oxford has become the first to be awarded a new creative media scholarship, worth £17,440.
Universities Minister David Willetts congratulated Michael Luciw, 18, from East Oxford, on his two-year scholarship to study digital film making at the SAE, formerly the School of Audio Engineering, in Littlemore.
It was the first scholarship to be awarded as part of SAE’s national school outreach project.
Mr Luciw, a former pupil at St Gregory the Great School in Cowley, pictured above with Mr Willetts, starts his course at the SAE institute in Littlemore, on Monday. He said: “It is a really big thing. Film making has always been a big passion of mine.”
Steve Hartley, from SAE, said: “Michael was an outstanding pupil at his school.”
