SEA cadets who took part in the Diamond Jubilee river pageant had a chance to recreate their role — with a very special guest.
TS Euryalus, based at Donnington Bridge, was one of 53 sea cadet units involved in the river pageant, and was tasked with flying the flag of Antigua and Barbuda.
The cadets invited the High Commissioner of the country, Dr Carl Roberts, to come to see the unit in action on the Thames in Oxford.
Commanding officer Sub-Lieutenant Tony Ingham said: “The atmosphere was fantastic.
“The high commissioner was very complimentary about the evening and also about the sea cadets’ general role in the pageant in the first place.
“I think he thoroughly enjoyed himself.”
Many of the cadets and their families had a chance to talk to Dr Roberts during the event on Friday.
