Henry and Aaron
LABRADOR Henry, pictured, had a lucky escape after a Littlemore lorry driver found him roaming on the A40.
The elderly dog was found on the busy road near Cheltenham on Thursday, August 30.
The driver took him to the Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary in Stadhampton which is now trying to find a home for him.
Aaron Denton, also pictured, from the charity, said: “He is a cracking old dog and he would make an elderly person a lovely pet.
“It’s quite a sad story as he could have been flattened.”
The sanctuary is holding its annual open day tomorrow from 2pm to 4.30pm.
It usually holds the popular event in the summer but postponed it when warden Maggie Whalley passed away aged 57 in July after suffering from liver cancer.
