THREE men from Abingdon are taking on the Thames to raise money for a young cancer sufferer.
Liam Noble, Kyle Smith and Micheal Smith are canoeing 123 miles from Lechlade to London to raise money for five-year-old Harvey Hext, who has a rare form of cancer.
Harvey and his brother Spencer both have Downs Syndrome, but Harvey also has neuroblastoma, which cannot be treated in the UK. Treatment abroad will cost about £300,000.
Mr Noble, 19, from Abingdon, said: “I am looking forward to it but it will be a massive challenge. ”
The rowers set off from Lechlade yesterday and are due to arrive in London on Sunday.
