Waste burner decision date
9:20am Monday 3rd September 2012 in News
BICESTER: A decision to award a 30-year £275m incinerator contract to waste firm FCC Environment, formerly known as WRG, will be scrutinised by councillors tomorrow.
In July the firm was awarded the contract to build and operate the incinerator at Greatmoor Farm in Calvert, just over the county border in Buckinghamshire. Up to 84 lorries a day would use the A41 to the site.
The burner, which would dispose of 300,000 tonnes of waste a year, was opposed by people in the Bicester area, where a second incinerator is already planned at Arncott.
The meeting is at 9.30am at County Hall, Aylesbury.
