Oxford rower wins gold at Olympics

Oxford rower Andy Triggs-Hodge has won Olympic gold in the men’s rowing four this morning.

The team, which also included Pete Reed, Andy Gregory and Tom James, beat rivals Australia to take the victory at Eton Dorney.

Speaking just after his team’s triumph, Mr Triggs-Hodge described it as “our masterpiece”.

He said: “We owe debt of thanks to everyone who helped us on our way. I’m just so proud right now. It’s phenomenal.

“I’m the happiest man in the world, I’m on cloud nine.”
