A DOG rescuer is looking for help rehoming four Jack Russell puppies and their mother.

William Walker, who runs Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Jack Russell Rescue in Weston-on-the-Green, near Bicester, picked up the dogs last Thursday.

Their owner was unable to look after them and told Mr Walker he was going to put them down if they could not be rehoused.

But Mr Walker cannot afford the vaccination costs of up to £300 and does not have the space to rehome the dogs.

The five-week-old puppies – two males and two females – are called Bailey, Mosey, Paddy and Taffy.

“Their 15-month-old mother is named Poppy.

Mr Walker said: “I would not let them put the dogs down but I have already got 12 dogs and I cannot keep them. I need help with the vet’s bills and they need a new home.”

He paid for the puppies to be wormed at the vets on Tuesday.

Mr Walker set up his charity, which asks for donations towards its running costs from new owners, 16 years ago, and has helped rehome more than 600 dogs.

He added: “Many years ago I went through a bad patch and got hold of a Staffordshire bull terrier. I turned to the dog for help and now I am giving back to the dogs.”

If you can give the puppies or their mother a new home, call Mr Walker on 01869 351 888.

So cute...if I wasn't in the US, I would take one today! Hope they all find "forever homes". Well done to Mr. Walker for caring for these young pups and their mum!
