9:30am Friday 18th May 2012 in News
TWO boys were hurt when a cricket ball was thrown at them in a Headington park, police said last night.
Officers said the incident involving boys aged 11 and 13, happened after they argued with two Asian men at the basketball court in Wood Farm Park.
The men, said to be in their late 20s, were playing cricket nearby when the victims and their friends asked them to move.
The pair became abusive before throwing the ball which hit the 11-year-old on the arm and bruised him, police said. The 13-year-old was hit on the leg but not hurt.
The first man is 6ft tall, of medium build, with short dark hair and a small tuft of hair on his upper lip.
He was wearing a black T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.
The second man is also of medium build, about 6ft 2ins tall, with neatly trimmed facial hair, and short black hair shaved at the sides.
The incident happened on Sunday on Sunday between 3.30pm and 4pm but police did not tell the public about it until yesterday.
