CHARITY MATTERS: Athletic efforts for good cause

TWO young people from Didcot Barramundis raised more than £300 in a charity swimathon.
Danny Amphlett, 15, and Charlotte Smart,12, pictured above, each swam 5km at the Didcot Wave Leisure Centre pool where they regularly train.
The pair raised a total of £364 for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Danny, a regional level swimmer who performs in open water competitions, completed 200 25-metre lengths in one hour and 12 minutes. Charlotte, a county level swimmer and Oxfordshire Young Achiever Award winner, managed it in one hour, 37 minutes.
