Thornton tipped for new position
10:30am Tuesday 15th May 2012 in News
Thames Valley Police Chief Constable Sara Thornton
OXON: Thames Valley Police Chief Constable Sara Thornton is believed to be a front runner to become Her Majesty’s new Chief Inspector of Constabulary.
Sir Denis O’Connor will retire on July 31 after more than three years in the role.
The website policeoracle.com, which monitors police news in the UK, believes Ms Thornton, who was unavailable for comment, is one of three top contenders.
The Thames Valley force would need a new Chief Constable if Ms Thornton got the job.
