Oxfordshire Basketball Cup

CHERWELL School, Oxford, are celebrating an Oxfordshire Cup basketball treble.

The boys served up a double success with victories in the under 15 and under 16 finals against European School, Culham at Oxford Brookes University Sports Centre.

They now go on to play in the semi-finals of a national tournament at Nottingham Wildcats Arena on Sunday, May 20.

Cherwell’s under 16 boys overcame a slow start to triumph 65-47, with Calvin Tse the top scorer, while Adriel George was named most valuable player.

Captain Megan Gold-Blyth and Hannah Grieves were the leading points scorers in the under 16 girls’ 38-25 victory, with Alice Finch the most valuable player.
