A PRISONER is on the run after allegedly attacking a woman he was working in a charity shop with while on day release.

Police today have appealed for help in finding Richard Hunt, a 29-year-old convicted robber, but have warned the public not to approach him.

Det Insp Steve Raffield said Hunt was on day release from HMP Spring Hill and working in a charity shop in Headington.

Yesterday a woman working in the shop - which police have not identified - was attacked, suffering cuts to her arms.

Hunt fled the shop and has not been seen since, said Mr Raffield. He did not return to Springhill.

Mr Raffield said: “Hunt was serving a five-and-a-half year sentence for robbery.

"Clearly in light of this incident we regard him to be dangerous and I would urge the public not to approach him.

"If anyone sees him or knows where he is they should contact police urgently."

Anyone who sees Hunt should call police on 999.
