A nursery started by a Faringdon mother who couldn’t find anywhere for her children is this month celebrating its 10th anniversary.

And The Old Station Nursery Group, which has since expanded to 13 sites across the UK, will hold a celebration for its employees on Saturday, May 19 to mark the occasion.

Sarah Steel, pictured, said: “It has been an exciting and eventful 10 years so far and we are looking forward to continuing to develop and improve as we move into our second decade.

“The birthday celebrations are a great opportunity to get our team together from all around the country to network, share tips and celebrate.

“This will be the first time the whole company has been invited to get together to hear an update from me as well as contributions from other industry speakers and take part in team-building.

“I think we’ll all leave feeling energised about the future and proud of what we’ve achieved so far.”

Leadership Day will give nursery staff a chance to meet people from other areas of the business and swap childcare tips.

Mrs Steel founded the nursery in a former railway station in July 2002 when she found it difficult to find childcare for her two young children after she left the Army.
