Fuel spill on M40

THE M40 southbound between Junctions 11 and 10 was closed for more than two hours this morning due to a fuel spillage.

Emergency services were called to an accident between a lorry tanker and two cars at 7.30am.

The lorry had crashed into a barrier on the hard shoulder and ruptured the tank, causing diesel to spill across the carriageway.

The road reopened at 9.35am. No one was injured.
