COMMENT: Run of shame

If you saw yesterday’s front page of the Oxford Mail, you’ll have seen a photograph of a man running, looking warily over his shoulder.

And since that man was former South Central Ambulance Service operations manager Robert King, you’ll now understand why.

More than three times over the legal limit, the paramedic crashed his ambulance into an Oxford shop but afterwards claimed he could not remember the incident.

When you think how many victims of drink-driving accidents the ambulance service has to deal with, it’s not just sad and unforgivable... it’s pathetic.
