Officers at Seacourt park and ride today
TWENTY drivers have been fined today for trying to jump traffic queues on the Botley Road by using the Seacourt park and ride lane.
Pc Glenn MacRae and Pc Steve Higa were out for an hour and a half stopping and fining motorists £30.
To avoid the queues heading into the city, some drivers use the park and ride lane into Seacourt, spin around roundabout and then rejoin the Botley Road traffic.
Pc Higa said: “Excuses included ‘I’m doing it to ease the traffic’ and ‘I’ve gone to pick my daughter up at the bus stop, but she’s not there’.
“We could have given more out if we’d had the resources.”
