David Robertson, 70, who represents Witney East, has lived in the town since 1987 and is married, with two children and two grandchildren.

He was elected to the county council in 2001 and became deputy leader in 2005. He was chairman of Witney Conservative Association between 2000 and 2004. He also serves as a board member of Oxfordshire Highways, Science Vale UK and Witney Educational Foundation and is a trustee on Cogges Farm Museum and chairman of governors of Madley Brook School.

He pledges to deliver services with more compassion, have a more “inclusive” regime, get council officers to take ownership of problems and drive down costs.
