OXFORD City triple jumper Nathan Douglas plans to return to action next month, a year after suffering a freak training injury.

Douglas, 29, last competed at the Commonwealth Games in 2010 and sustained a double ankle ligament rupture in Italy last May.

But he has battled his way back to fitness as he targets a place in British team at the London 2012 Olympics.

Douglas tweeted to the Oxford Mail: “Hoping I will open sometime in May, but no confirmations yet.”
