TEENAGERS turned detectives as they uncovered a ‘dead body’ at a special event at Oxford University.
The amateur sleuths, including 10 young carers from Oxfordshire, were invited to a special event aimed at giving prospective students a taste of university life.
As part of the activity, the pupils each became a suspect when a student was found dead at Pembroke College.
The ‘murder’ gave youngsters a chance to try out skills such as forensic science and ancient Greek, as well as challenging the teens to stay vigilant as they saw suspects around college and at a formal dinner.
Darius Smith and Lara Curtin were among those taking part.
Darius, 13, a pupil at The Cooper School in Bicester, said: “It’s been fun and funny and I have seen lots of different things.”
And Lara, 13, who goes to St Gregory the Great School in Oxford, said: “It has been very entertaining.
“I have learned a lot about what it’s like to stay in one of the colleges in terms of the rooms and the environment.”
