NORTH BERKS LEAGUE

CROWMARSH Gifford took another giant stride towards the Division 1 title with a comfortable 3-1 win at Kintbury Rangers, writes PHIL ANNETS.

They went six points clear with a game in hand after rivals Didcot Casualswere held to a goalless draw at home to East Hendred.

Andy Allum, Phil Hedges and Liam Strudwick scored Crowmarsh’s goals, with Scott Bower netting for the hosts.

Saxton Rovers are level on points with Didcot following a 2-1 home win over Long Wittenham Athletic, but have played two more games.

Frank Haines and Kyle Allsworth grabbed their goals, with Chris Bowler replying via a penalty.

Harwell International stretched their unbeaten run to 13 matches after Tom McGregor hit a 30-yard screamer to secure a 1-1 draw at home to Wootton & Dry Sandford, who scored through Tom Cooke.

Childrey United and Drayton also shared the points in a 2-2 draw.

James Wilkins and Dan Crawford scored for the Childrey, with Ryan Seamark and Dean Simmonds replying.

Zak Gallagher scored a hat-trick and also twice hit the woodwork in Benson AFC’s remarkable 4-4 draw at home to Harwell Village.

Nick Skiller netted their fourth, but goals from Neil Smith, Dan Hinchcliffe, Andy Arnold and Gareth Fenton in the last minutes salvaged a draw for Harwell.

Berinsfield extended their lead at the top of Division 2 to six points after winning 3-2 at Ardington & Lockinge.

Brian Rawlings, Chris Murphy and Mark Ingram scored Berinsfield’s goals on a ground where they had also had two recent hard-fought cup victories.

James Clarke and Chris Hogan netted for Ardington.

Dorchester claimed the Division 3 title after a mammoth 9-1 win at Wootton & Dry Sandford Res.

Dan Brind netted four times alongside goals from Rob Hudson, Jack Lester, Jamie Fleet, Billy Warner and Joe Dixon. Yuran Deniev scored for Wootton.

Wantage Town A increased their chances of joining them in Division 2 next season with a straightforward 3-0 win over promotion rivals Coleshill United.

Goals from James Bowsher, Aiden Necchi-Ghiri and Paris Cleary did the damage.

Shrivenham A also won 9-1 on the road at bottom-of-the-table Drayton Res.

Josh Fowler hit a hat-trick, Adam Rudman and Mark Loveridge bagged braces, with Luke Coxhead and Steve Leighfield also scoring.

Liam Hicks replied in vain for Drayton, who have yet to register a point all season.
