Pledge to minimise Manor site disruption

CONTRACTORS working on the redevelopment of the last remaining part of Oxford United’s former home at the Manor Ground site have assured nearby residents they will do all they can to minimise disturbance.

The development of 27 flats under a social housing project is the final phase of work to reuse the land once occupied by the historic stadium in Headington. The private Manor Hospital, built in 2004, occupies most of the former football ground site.

Work on the construction site will only take place between 7.30am and 5pm between Monday and Friday.

Vans will arrive on site by 7am and deliveries will not take place between 8am and 9am and after 3pm.

Residents had expressed fears about disruption during the project.

Where possible, traffic to and from the site will use the private road next to the Shell filling station, but use of Osler Road may be necessary.

Work began earlier this week and is due to be completed in October.
