Martin Young has ended his two-year battle with Oxford City Council.
The 68-year-old from Headington Hill has been fighting the council’s backing the £132m redevelopment of Oxford Brookes University’s Gipsy Lane campus.
His battle reached the Court of Appeal but he was refused protection against the huge legal bill.
The city council’s lawyers allowed him to pull out without costs and he has accepted the offer.
