Ardley United survived a strong comeback from lowly Henley Town before extending their winning Premier Division streak in the Uhlsport Hellenic League to seven games with a dramatic 4-3 away victory.

Carl Standen put Ardley ahead after four minutes before Ryan Brooks made it 2-0 in the 33rd minute.

In first-half injury time, Henley were awarded a penalty after a foul by Adam Beckett, and Warren Baxter fired home from the spot.

Ardley restored their two-goal cushion in the 49th minute, Scott Bridges volleying home from Adam Garner’s headed pass.

Henley levelled with two goals from Chris Dean, whose first was helped on its way in by Ardley keeper Joe White while the second went in directly in from a corner.

The home side could smell victory, but they were exposed at the back and Ryan Curtin snatched relieved Ardley’s winner five minutes from time.

Defending champions Wantage Town put their recent poor displays behind them to draw 2-2 at home to leaders Flackwell Heath.

Richie Claydon put Wantage in front from the spot, following a foul on Chris Collin in the 42nd minute.

Flackwell levelled two minutes later when Wantage defender Stuart Cattell sliced the ball into his own net.

Jack Hadley restored Wantage’s lead with a cracking 25-yard drive.

But Lee Thompson rescued a deserved point for Flackwell 13 minutes from time, beating ohome keeper Gareth Tucker, who had earlier made some fine saves.

Abingdon Town came from behind to win 3-2 away to fourth placed Binfield.

Callum Whitty put Binfield ahead after two minutes, and only a great save by Abingdon’s 17-year-old debutant keeper Harry Hobbs prevented Ian Davies making it 2-0.

Mark Janes equalised after an hour and Anaclet Odihiambo put the Abbots into the lead a few minutes later.

Gary Callaway equalised for the the hosts, but Odihiambo set up the winner for Adam Lovegrove ten minutes from time.

Letcombe held a three-goal lead three times, but were relieved to hang on 6-5 in an extraordinary Division 1 East game at home to Hungerford Town Development.

Lyle Gifford, after just 45 seconds, Pete Horswell and Mark Brind sped Letcombe into a 3-0 after 28 minutes.

By half-time it was 4-2, Gifford having added a second, and Hungerford having replied thro-ugh Steve James and Lee Hamilton.

Brind and Mark Denny scored for Letcombe, who at one stage led 5-2, in the second half, but Bradley Shaw (2) and James scored for the visitors to keep the home fans on tenterhooks.

Headington Amateurs secured a welcome 2-0 win with a goal in each half from Liam Morbey and Aftab Hafiz against Division 1 West strugglers Carterton. Prolific Lee Keyes scorned a number of chances, while Dan Bishop had a good shout for a penalty turned down as Clanfield drew 0-0 at Malmesbury Victoria.
