A goal five seconds from the end by Stuart Young made Abingdon’s victory in Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West look more comfortable than it was.
Sam Collier put the visitors ahead from Curtis Angell’s long ball, but Wimborne equalised on the half-hour when George Webb’s shot beat keeper James Foster.
Luke Carnell restored Abingdon’s lead with a brilliant diving header from a corner.
Wimborne threw men forward but dogged Abingdon held on before substitute Young’s goal sealed it from Aaron Parfitt’s pass.
Abingdon Utd: Foster J, Angell, Buck, Carnell, Allaway, Smith (Kingsbeer 52), Biddle, Doyle (Evans 70), Collier, Packer (Young 80), Parfitt.
