The Reaper performed to a mesmerized audience of 1000 people at the Chipping Norton Festival on Sunday 10th July 2011. The entertainment up to that point was beautiful, gentle and relaxing with classical guitars, choral groups and silver bands. Then The Reaper turned it up to 11 and let rip!!

The local four-piece consists of Joey Kenny (vocals and guitar), Harry Winks (guitar), Joe Llandles (bass) and Callum Woodward (drums). They just blew the crowd away with their killer riffs, big licks and insightful lyrics. The fusion of heavy metal and rock hit the audience right between the eyes at 100 mph and the they loved it – giving rapturous applause all the way through.

What is amazing is their age. They range from 10-13, they write all their own material and they refuse to play covers. This was not lost on BBC Radio Oxford who interviewed them just before going on stage and by The Goodie’s Graeme Garden who introduced them. The Reaper want to be appreciated for what they are, not just their ages however, they have guitar skills, creativity and stage presence that bands twice their age can only dream of.

Surely this band is destined for great things if they are this good at this age. Their next performance is at Alex James’ Harvest Festival on 10th September and the O2 Academy in Oxford on 8th October for a charity Battle of the Bands supporting Against Breast Cancer.
