WORK to get Blenheim Palace ready for this month’s CLA Game Fair is in full swing.
The fair will take place at the stately home in Woodstock from Friday, July 22, until Sunday, July 24, featuring a host of displays and demonstrations of countryside activities. About 140,000 people are expected to attend the event, which is supported by the Oxford Mail.
Among the activities fair visitors will be able to try is archery. Field archer Terry Mills visited the palace yesterday to see the site.
Field archery differs from target archery in that the targets are life-size animal models. The sport normally takes place in woodland.
Mr Mills said: “Field archery is very family-orientated and it’s based on having fun.”
Visitors to the game fair will be able to shoot at models of a pig, a deer and a polar bear.
