THOUSANDS of people are expected to turn out to enjoy the festivities at Wallingford Carnival tomorrow.
Daisy Nisbet, 10, has been chosen as the carnival princess for tomorrow’s event. She is pictured with her attendants, 11-year-olds Abigail Rumble, left, and Shannon Allen. Shannon said: “I was an attendant last year, so I’m really looking forward to taking part again.”
Daisy and her attendants, all from Wallingford, will lead the carnival procession through the town in a donkey and trap provided by the Island Farm donkey sanctuary in Brightwell-cum-Sotwell.
Mayor Colin Dolton will open the festivities in Market Place at 11am, with the procession travelling through the town to the Kinecroft at about 2pm.
Events throughout the afternoon and evening include an eagle and vulture show and live music.
Festival organiser Nina Bunce said: “Daisy will make a lovely carnival princess and we are looking forward to thousands of people turning up.”
