OXFORDSHIRE health officials are urging parents to make sure their children are protected against measles after a serious outbreak of the disease in France and other European countries.
NHS Oxfordshire, the county’s primary care trust, said the uptake of childhood immunisations in Oxfordshire was among among the best in England.
However, there are still cases of measles in children and mumps in young adults.
Gail Stockford, the trust's immunisation manager, said: “Please do not be complacent.
“As a parent, now is a good time to check whether your child has had two doses of MMR, and if they have not, arrange for them to be vaccinated at your GP practice.”
