Members of Down’s Syndrome Oxfordshire enjoyed a free day out at Legoland Windsor on Sunday, paid for by an international charity.
Merlin’s Magic Wand, which gives special experiences to ill, disabled and disadvantaged children, treated 23 families with more than 100 children to the day out.
Elsa Gill, mum of six-year-old Jack, pictured with dad Jonathan, said: “We all had a brilliant time.
“Jack absolutely loved exploring the different activities.
“Having a child with Down’s in the family can sometimes be tough and tiring, so a day like this really refreshes parents and siblings, and gives the children with Down’s Syndrome the opportunity simply to have fun.”
Last year, the charity paid for DSO members to visit Chessington World of Adventures.
Charity manager Hilary Birkinshaw said: “We recognise that trips like this give families the chance to experience something that they may otherwise not be able to do.”
