STUDENTS will showcase their creative talents tomorrow to inspire the next generation of learners.

Teenagers studying at Oxford & Cherwell Valley College will use performance, tasters sessions and talks to show the range of courses available.

Among the attractions at the college’s campuses in Oxpens Road, Oxford, and Broughton Road, Banbury, will be activities run by Oxford Playhouse, performances from Grease and The Wizard of Oz by media and performing arts students, pottery lessons and African drumming.

College principal Sally Dicketts said: “Our learners range in age from 14 to over 70.

“We have almost 4,000 people studying full-time and more than 6,500 part-time, on a huge variety of programmes and courses.

“We have study options for young students coming to us from school, apprentices and employees of companies doing vocational study, through to those studying for leisure or interest.

“Our open events are a great way to inspire and engage with those interested in joining us for next and future years.”

College staff will be on hand to talk about the application process and student finance options.

The event runs at both campuses from 3pm to 7pm. Entrance is free.

Another open day will be held next Wednesday, May 25, at the college's Blackbird Leys campus, in Cuddesdon Way, from 2.30pm to 7pm.
