People convicted of offences at magistrates' courts in the county recently: Akeem Williams, 18, of Victor Street, Oxford, admitted possession of cannabis (Class B) in Oxford on February 23. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £40 costs.

Thomas Coullon, 21, of Iffley Road, Oxford, admitted using or threatening unlawful violence, and possessing cannabis (Class B) in Oxford on November 13. Given a six-month jail term, suspended for 18 months. Told to pay £100 compensation and £85 costs.

Kenny Herbert, 22, of Sorrell Road, Oxford, admitted possessing a knife in public, namely Sorrell Road, on January 27. Given 120 hours of unpaid work and told to pay £40 costs.

Ian Lindsay, 37, of Paradise Street, Oxford, admitted two counts of shoplifting at the Spar store in Eynsham on May 7 and 9, 2010. Also admitted possession of heroin and cocaine (both Class A) in Wolvercote on May 9. Further admitted shoplifting two legs of lamb valued at £37.09 from Waitrose in Oxford on September 13 and two counts of committing further offences during the operational period of a suspended sentence. Given a 12-month conditional discharge, and operational period of suspended sentence extended by six months.

Craig Hill, 52, of The Street, Chirton, Devizes, Wiltshire, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence in Swindon on October 31. Fined £975, a £15 victim’s surcharge and £85 costs.

Abby Simmonds, 25, of Dunstan Avenue, Chipping Norton, admitted shoplifting a breast pump valued at £91.92 from Boots in Oxford on February 17. Given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay £40 costs.

John Lee, 35, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, admitted shoplifting a fleece jacket valued at £65 from Debenhams in Oxford on February 22 and failing to surrender to court bail on March 10. Given a six-month conditional discharge and told to pay £20 costs.

Samantha Coulthard, 32, of Evenlode Drive, Berinsfield, admitted failing to notify a change in circumstances affecting her right to income support, housing benefit and council tax benefit between November 14, 2008, and March 7, 2010. Fined £100, a £15 victim’s surcharge and £85 costs.

Vanessa Rix, 29, of Willow Road, Shipton-under-Wychwood, admitted failing to notify a change in circumstances affecting her right to claim housing benefit and council tax benefit between October 12, 2009, and October 10, 2010. Fined £100 and a £15 victim’s surcharge.

Kevin Cox, 49, of Sandy Lane, Tiddington, admitted drink-driving in Sandy Lane, Tiddington, on February 24. Namely having 117 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35. Given 140 hours of unpaid work and told to pay £70 costs. Banned from driving for two years.

Susan Gerard, 65, of Pegasus Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting clothes and shoes valued at £115 from Next in Oxford on February 25 and commission of a further offence while subject to a conditional discharge. Fined £40 and a £15 victim’s surcharge.

Joe Joyce, 18, of Middle Ground, Wheatley, admitted assault by beating in Oxford on November 15. Given a 12-month exclusion order from the Hobgoblin pub in Cowley Road, East Oxford, fined £75, and told to pay a £15 victim’s surcharge and £120 costs.

Benjamin Houghton, 38, of Partridge Walk, Oxford, admitted possessing four wraps of heroin (Class A) in Oxford on January 20. Given a six-week curfew.

Robert Kenny, 28, of Commercial Road, Weymouth, Dorset, admitted taking a vehicle without consent in Thame and driving without insurance and while disqualified in Counduit Hill Rise on March 12. Also admitted theft of a credit card on March 12 in Thame. Jailed for 16 weeks and banned from driving for a year.

Alexander Esslemont, 24, of Grosvenor Road, Caversham, Berkshire, admitted drink-driving in Henley-on-Thames on February 20. Namely having 118 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 microgrammes. Given a six-week curfew and told to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim’s surcharge. Also banned from driving for two years.

Adam Henley, 22, of Gainsborough Crescent, Henley-on-Thames, admitted theft of a pedal cycle in Henley-on-Thames on January 31 and failing to surrender to court bail on March 8. Three other offences were taken into consideration. Given a 12-month conditional discharge.

Florin Dogaru, 21, of Staines Road, Ilford, Essex, admitted shoplifting eight pairs of jeans and a jacket from G Star Raw in Bicester on March 10. Given a 12-month conditional discharge.

Malcolm Plaisted, 23, of Abingdon Road, Oxford, admitted shoplifting meat valued at £50 from Sainsbury’s in Oxford on March 10; shoplifting meat valued at £200 from Co-op in Oxford on February 8; shoplifting meat valued at £60 from Co-op in Oxford on February 6, and committing a further offence while subject to a community order. Original offence of going equipped for theft and shoplifting resentenced. Given a 12-month drug-rehabilitation requirement and told to pay a total of £155 compensation.
