A TEENAGER was last night recovering after getting his arm broken in a violent incident in Abingdon town centre.
The 18-year-old was attacked outside the library in The Charter at about 2.30pm on Wednesday.
Witnesses said the injured teenager was kicked. A 17-year-old boy was arrested shortly after the incident and charged with grievous bodily harm with intent.
Rachel Steptoe, 45, said she was walking through The Charter with her 17-year-old daughter at the time. She said: “All I heard was a shout and then a thumping noise. It only lasted a couple of seconds.
“He was on the floor and in a lot of pain.
“It was not nice at all. It made you feel a bit uncomfortable.”
Pc Neil Wathes said: “Lots of people would have witnessed the assault.”
