Rotherham United make their first visit to the Kassam Stadium.
They last played in Oxford in the final season at the Manor Ground.
And that was a memorable match in a forgettable season.
Manny Omoyinmi (2), Andy Scott and Rob Quinn found the net as Oxford won 4-3.
The current Rotherham side have been among the leading teams in League Two all season.
They have won at Barnet, Accrington, Crewe and Macclesfield, yet have suffered defeat in their last four away games – at Wycombe, Stevenage, Port Vale and Gillingham.
In truth, all their games are away from home, as they are having to play home fixtures in the neighbouring city of Sheffield.
U’s boss Chris Wilder, who made around 150 appearances at right back for the Millers in the mid-90s, said: “I enjoyed my time at the old ground (Millmoor).
“I think it’s difficult for everyone there because they’re in a period where, I imagine, they don’t want to play at the Don Valley, and they want to get everything sorted off the pitch.
“On the pitch, I’m not surprised they’re in amongst it at the top.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for Ronnie Moore. He’s been a success wherever he’s been in management and knows his stuff.”
