Oxford City manager Mike Ford has hailed his troops after their 5-0 thrashing of Weymouth and urged them to keep up the good work when they host Didcot Town in Tuesday's Premier Division derby.

Ford said it was vital that his side kept up the momentum against the Railwaymen.

“It was a good win and this time we found the net,” said Ford, who gives a late fitness test to Craig McIllwain.

“I am not going to say it was one of our best performances, but we beat one of the teams around us and we have to keep doing that.”

Ford said he expects a tough battle against Didcot whose new boss Ady Williams saw his charges lose 2-0 at home to Bashley on Saturday.

He added: “Tonight’s a big game for Didcot and for us.

“We should be buoyed by beating Weymouth, and Didcot will be up for it because they will have something to prove to their new manager.”

Meanwhile, Williams wants a reaction from his players after the Bashley loss.

He said: “We are going there to win it. I don’t think we can forget about Saturday, but we have to learn from it.

“I think if we perform then we are capable of winning, so I want to see if they can react.”

Didcot’s only doubt is their on-loan Aldershot striker Jack Randall (twisted knee).

Banbury United entertain local rivals Brackley Town.

Abingdon United manager Richie Bourne says they face a difficult test at Oxfordshire rivals North Leigh in Division 1 South & West.

He said: “They are on good form. We beat them 2-0 earlier in the season, but they are a much-changed side since then.

“They will be tough, but our spirit is good. I know what they are expecting, so I may change my team around a bit.”

Abingdon are without JP Mills (back) and Anaclet Odhiambo (ankle).

North Leigh are likely to miss striker Matty Taylor who twisted an ankle in Saturday’s 2-1 win at Hungerford.
