THE planned merger of two Oxfordshire health trusts makes perfect sense, as long as frontline services do not suffer.
We live in an age of necessary spending cuts and public services must be seen to do their bit.
So if the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre can run a tighter ship while maintaiing standards, then let’s get on with it.
But woe betide them if they start cutting into patient care.
Eradicating waste and bureaucracy should be the aim here, not doctors, nurses, cooks and cleaners.
